Finding Inner Safety
August 3rd 2025, 2:30-5pm
in-person - Gather Space, Cornworthy, Totnes
A 2.5-hour somatic workshop for nervous system nourishment.
What would it feel like to be truly safe in your own body? To have a nourished, resilient nervous system that allows you to meet life's experiences with presence rather than overwhelm?
In our modern world, many of us live in states of chronic activation—feeling triggered, on edge or exhausted. This workshop offers a gentle pathway back to your innate capacity for safety, regulation, and embodied presence.
What you'll experience
Through a compassionate blend of somatic exploration and nervous system education, you'll discover what inner safety feels like in your unique body. We'll explore both the sensations of safety and activation, helping you recognise your patterns and develop new pathways for resilience.
Using gentle movement, breathwork, and Compassionate Inquiry — a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté — you'll learn practical tools for:
Recognising your nervous system states
Finding your embodied sense of safety
Building capacity to stay present with life's challenges
Cultivating self-compassion and authentic connection
A unique integration
This workshop weaves together modalities from my journey as a yoga and movement guide, somatic therapist, and Compassionate Inquiry practitioner. You'll experience a creative synthesis of these approaches in a space designed for gentleness, truth and deep nourishment.
This workshop is for you if:
You're seeking a restorative space to slow down and reconnect with yourself
You want to understand the foundations of nervous system health
You're curious about Dr. Gabor Maté's work and want to experience these tools safely
You're navigating recovery or healing from trauma or difficult life events
You notice patterns of feeling triggered, dysregulated or stuck in fight-or-flight
You long to discover what inner safety and resilience feel like in your body
You're interested in developing greater capacity for life's ups and downs
What to expect
This is a group experience focused on gentle exploration and learning. No previous experience is required—just an openness to connect with yourself in a supportive environment.
Please note: While this workshop provides a nurturing group container, it may not offer the individualized support some participants need. If exploring safety feels particularly challenging for you, consider arranging additional one-to-one support following the session.
What you'll need
Comfortable clothes, a water bottle.
