My work is changing.. slightly

Hello dear soul,

It's been some time since I've last shared any updates. I've spent the past two months in Devon, and have mostly been slow, enjoying many moments out in nature and getting ready to close that very special chapter. The land there, and the home where so much healing work happened over the past three years truly hold a precious place in my heart.

After leaving Devon two weeks ago, I went to the Embodied Heartretreat with Bela Crowder. Working with Bela in person was something I'd been looking forward to for almost a year. Her work is one of the few things out there right now that feel so right in my being. I felt the same recognition in me about Gabor Maté's work four years ago. It just made sense.

My work has always been an extension of my own ways of relating to life, and I've studied many modalities over the years – all with the intention of deepening my relationship with myself, exploring what feels true on my own journey, and gaining more clarity so I can better support others. I've studied traditional Psychology, Compassionate Inquiry, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, Gestalt therapy, and psychedelic-assisted therapy, and my practice has always been an intuitive integration of tools from all of the above, meeting each person where they are.

After Embodied Heart, though, I feel clear that I want to simplify my practice.

I've always leaned towards working with the heart (slowing down, presence, feeling, inner knowing) more than with the mind (analysing). This isn't to say that clarity of mind isn't helpful. When I start working with someone, the first layer of our exploration is often about finding more understanding of the reactivity, hurt, or the beliefs the person is relating to the world through. However, once the inner landscape becomes clearer and more ease in the mind starts to be available, the work often becomes less about "healing" the wounds and more about building the inner safety to feel them.

My magic as a practitioner seems to live in exactly that – creating spaces of presence and connection, where the person in front of me can gain enough understanding of their experience to become curious about, and able to access, the experience of feeling. Remembering their capacity to be with the wounds as they are. Welcoming home all that is hurting. All that feels scary. Building trust in the heart to hold all the rawness, the intensity, and the beauty of being human.

From now on, know that if we're working together, you'll find even more invitations to be in your body and in your heart, to slow down, and to stay. Meeting life as it is. Meeting yourself.

I feel it's always useful to be reminded – the receptivity to life is a strength. And although being alive is brutally painful at times, it is also a complete miracle, and there is deep safety and belonging in your heart that no-one can take away. Your heart has the capacity to hold and guide your experience with honesty, clarity and presence the mind simply can't offer.

As you know, I only do this work through referrals and don't advertise it in any way – partly for safety reasons, but mainly because I have trust that whoever needs what I have to offer will find it through life's threads, chance, connection. My belief is that life has a way of guiding us towards exactly what's meant to be a part of our journey.

That said, if you meet someone who could benefit from this beautiful and potent work, I'd be grateful if you could play a part in this tapestry and connect us for an exploration. I've met some amazing humans through your referrals, and I'd love to keep building my practice this way. I am now based in London and continue to hold sessions here.

Thank you for being a part of my world. Sharing presence and doing work with you makes my heart full.

With love,
Liza
